Friday 23  November
A hybrid drake Wigeon, probably American x Eurasian at Ardmore Point, also two female Velvet Scoters and four Red-throated Divers off the point with a Grey Plover on the south side.
Little Egret and 14 Whooper Swans at RSPB Baron’s Haugh.
14 Black-tailed Godwits at Longhaugh Point, also a Jay.
A male Hen Harrier at the south end of Barr Loch, RSPB Lochwinnoch.
Eighr Woodcock over Shieldhill Farm from their roost at dusk.

An adult Little Gull in Cardwell Bay, Gourock just after high tide.

Eight Tree Sparrows at the feeders in a Cumbernauld garden.
25 Gadwall and two Kingfishers at the marsh pond in Hogganfield Park LNR.

News from Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue Centre
Within the last week, five Woodcocks have been rescued from built-up areas, three from Glasgow, one from Renfrew and one from Gourock as a result of collisions. All were in good health, though two had wounds from a cat or Magpie.

Tuesday 20  November
177 Greenland White-fronted Geese with 1,500 Pink-feet on Snipe Flats, RSPB Loch Lomond early morning, also two male Hen harriers hunting; later a minimum of 131 Greenland White-fronts feeding NW of Hillhead Farm.

252 Whooper Swans on stubble below Covington. near Thankerton (also a second uncounted flock on the flood plain at Quothquan), also two Barnacle Geese with 2,800 Pink-footed Geese.
A female Merlin at Shieldhill Farm, near Eaglesham, also six Woodcock leaving their roost there at dusk.
A Brambling in a Foxbar garden.

A juvenile White-tailed Eagle heading north, low over Ardmore, also two Little Egrets in in the north bay.
A report of a Black-necked Grebe or Slavonian Grebe on Houstonhead Dam, Bridge of Weir.
Little Egret and eight Greenshanks at Finlaystone Point and a Slavonian Grebe off Parklea.
Approximately 180 Greenland White-fronted Geese at Hillhead Farm, near Croftamie.
Three Barnacle Geese with 650 Pink-feet at Millichen
The female Scaup still on Ryat Linn Reservoir; nearby, 24 Goosanders and 36 Cormorants on Balgray Reservoir.

Three Little Egrets in Ardmore North Bay, also a Short-eared Owl with prey, and off the point four Slavonian Grebes and eleven Red-throated Divers.
25 Jack Snipe flushed (19 caught) at Cathkin Marsh SWT Reserve, also 60 Snipe.
Another record total of The Meetings Whooper Swan flock of 508 with 222 at Easter Sills and 286 at Covington.
A Green Sandpiper at Carbarns, before flying across River Clyde to Merryton Pond.
12 Crossbill, two Jays and a Brambling in Douglas Estate.
28 Whooper Swans and 1,500 Pink-footed Geese at Rushyhill/ Westerhill, near the Gadloch, also 50 Collared Doves.
24 Gadwall on Hogganfield marsh pool.

A redhead Smew on Barr Loch, RSPB Lochwinnoch, probably the female returning in early November for a fourth year.

Sunday 4 November 
Two adult Little Gulls and two adult Mediterranean Gulls in Cardwell Bay; nearby, a Black-tailed Godwit at West Ferry.
Two Slavonian Grebes off Ardmore Point; nearby, a Black-tailed Godwit in Cardross Bay.
At least 35 Tree Sparrows at Portnauld Farm, Inchinnan (mostly around sewage works); nearby, a Woodcock at Kirklandneuk, Renfrew next to White Cart Water.

Great Skua and an Arctic Skua off Pirnmill, Arran in the morning.

Friday 2 November 
The Slavonian Grebe still on Bishop Loch. 
A record count of at least 425 Whooper Swans between Carstairs and Libberton, overtaking the previous maximum of 393 in November 1999; also 6,000 Pink-footed Geese. 
180 Greenland White-fronted Geese, two Barnacle Geese and 600 Pink-footed Geese west of Hillhead Farm, near Croftamie; also at least 1,200 Pink-footed Geese with 150 Greylags north of Drymen Primary School. 
An impressive 35 Gadwall on Gartloch Pool, a record count for the observer, slightly below record of 43 in October 2003. 
The male Hen Harrier again over Aird Meadow, RSPB Lochwinnoch at midday. 
Two late House Martins feeding over Hollows Avenue, Foxbar in the afternoon. 
A Barn Owl flying over the A727 before the Thorntonhall roundabout at 1745 hrs
