The eclipse drake Mandarin Duck still in front of RSPB Lochwinnoch visitor centre, also a Swift over.
15 Sandwich Terns in Kames Bay, Millport, Great Cumbrae.

Late news for 26 August
An Osprey catching a fish at Banton Loch/Townhead Reservoir, Kilsyth.
An exceptional estimate of 300+ House Martins low over Ardmore North Bay.
Now a third Nuthatch at Garvock Lodge Wood.

Sunday 26 August

 
A 1st-winter/female Garganey at Frankfield Loch, also a Greenshank and a Swift.
44 Black-tailed Godwits and eight Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh; nearby, earlier, 14 Black-tailed Godwits at Carbarns Pool.
A Scaup at Dumbarton at the mouth of the River Leven.
The Green Woodpecker again at Garadhban Forest.

Late news for 25 August
A male Hen Harrier hunting at the south end of Barr Loch, RSPB Lochwinnoch, also four calling Water Rails at Aird Meadow in the evening.

Correction to 24 August
The juvenile Mediterranean Gull was not at Carbarns, but Baron's Haugh.

Saturday 25 August

 
Marsh Harrier hovering over Aird Meadow in the afternoon, also an Osprey present.
15 Black-tailed Godwits (11 flying off east in the morning) at Newshot Island and still two Greenshanks.
Interestingly, 11 Black-tailed Godwits at Balmore Pool.
A Green Woodpecker calling at Garadhban Forest.
Two male Redstarts and a Tree Pipit on passage at Craigend HIll, Erskine.

An adult Mediterranean Gull roosting at Frankfield Loch, also a Greenshank present.

Late news for 23 August
In the evening at Carbarns Pool, a juvenile (moulting into 1st-winter) Mediterranean Gull, probably the same bird as at Strathclyde Loch on 22 August, also three juvenile Black-tailed Godwits; nearby, 23 juvenile Black-tailed Godwits and at least 10 Green Sandpipers, at RSPB Baron's Haugh.
First Green Sandpiper back at BAE Systems, Bishopton, also four migrant Tree Pipits.

Correction to 22 August
Two Mediterranean Gulls (one with red PUP2  on a white ring) at Ironotter Point, should be a red ring with white letters (same bird as seen there on 15 July).

Thursday 23 August

 
Two Greenshanks in front of the RSPB Lochwinnoch visitor centre, also the eclipse drake Mandarin Duck still.
Five Green Sandpipers and nine Black-tailed Godwits at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also seven Blackcaps feeding on elderberries.

Late news for 22 August
Two Mediterranean Gulls (one with red PUP2  on a white ring) at Ironotter Point, also 31 Sandwich Terns (one with an unread colour ring) and a Sanderling.

Two Greenshanks in front of the RSPB Lochwinnoch visitor centre, also the eclipse drake Mandarin Duck still.
Five Green Sandpipers and nine Black-tailed Godwits at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also seven Blackcaps feeding on elderberries.

Wednesday 22 August

Little Egret at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also still 20 Black-tailed Godwits and eight Green Sandpipers.
A juvenile Kittiwake on Balgray Reservoir this evening, also a good count of 140 Linnets.
Two juvenile Ruffs, 14 Black-tailed Godwits and four Greenshank at Newshot Island in the morning, also a Reed Warbler feeding with Willow Warblers in the hedgedrow there. 
The eclipse drake Mandarin Duck coming to the feeders in front of visitor centre RSPB Lochwinnoch.

A juvenile Mediterranean Gull at Strathclyde Loch  in the evening.

A Hummingbird Hawk-moth again feeding on buddleia in a Netherlee garden.

Late news for 19 August
A female Scaup on Woodend Loch, also a total of 15 Gadwall between there and Lochend Loch.
Five Black-tailed Godwits on the White Cart Water at Renfrew.

Sunday 19 August

A "female type" Marsh Harrier over Aird Meadow, RSPB Lochwinnoch at 1740 hrs, also the eclipse drake Mandarin Duck again in front of the visitor centre.
49 Black-tailed Godwits (40 juveniles) and 12 Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh; nearby, a ringtail Hen Harrier (seen earlier at Baron's Haugh) hunting at Carbarns Pool, before crossing to Merryton.
Two Sandwich Terns over Balgray Reservoir at 1430 hrs, also there a Black-tailed Godwit with four Ringed Plovers and two Dunlin.
Five Ringed Plovers and a Dunlin at Frankfield Loch.
Four Whinchats at Todds Well, near Gartloch Pools, Glasgow; nearby, a Comma in a Gartloch Village garden

At least nine Green Sandpipers and eight juvenile Black-tailed Godwits at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also four Water Rails (one juvenile); nearby, earlier, two juvenile Black-tailed Godwits at Carbarns Pool.
Five Whinchats at Todds Well, near Gartloch Pools, Glasgow.

Friday 17 August

A Green Sandpiper and a Greenshank on Net Bay shore, RSPB Loch Lomond, also a moult flock of 80 Goosanders in the bay.
An eclipse drake Mandarin Duck in front of the RSPB Lochwinnoch visitor centre.
Now two Nuthatches at Garvock Lodge Wood.

Thursday 16 August

Reed Warbler, a juvenile male Ruff, four Greenshanks and eight Black-tailed Godwits (six juveniles) at Newshot Island in the morning; nearby, a Black-tailed Godwit and Greenshank at Erskine shore.
25  Black-tailed Godwits and eight Green Sandpipers at RSPB Baron's Haugh, also an  excellent 28 Little Grebes.

Late news for 15 August
An adult Mediterranean Gull at Ironotter Point.

Tuesday 14 August

A summer-plumaged Great Northern Diver off Luss Pier, Loch Lomond, also three Ospreys in the area.
Little Egret on Crom Mhin shore, Endrick Mouth, also a Greenshank and a Black-tailed Godwit.
Two Ospreys fishing successfully ar Houstonhead Dam, Bridge of Weir.
A Greenshank at Frankfield Loch.
